Suboxone Detox - Divided Into 4 Phases:

1. Induction
2. Stabilization
3. Taper
4. Discontinuation

1. SUBOXONE INDUCTION

Suboxone Induction Phase is the first dose of Suboxone. It is a carefully monitored startup procedure designed to minimize the risk of causing acute opiate withdrawal. Buprenorphine HCl induction is administered when an opiate addict abstains from using opiates and shows signs of significant opiate withdrawals. If an opiate addict is not in the early stages of opiate withdrawal Buprenorphine HCl may instigate the onset of acute opiate withdrawal syndrome.

2. SUBOXONE STABILIZATION

Suboxone Stabilization Phase is the period in which the opiate drug of abuse is metabolizing and Buprenorphine HCl is the majority activitaing drug in Mu receptors. The stabilization period generally lasts 48-hours or less and begins when induction has passed some signs of and ends when very few objectively noticeable signs of opiate withdrawal distress are present. The buprenorphine dose is often adjusted during the stabilization phase.

3. SUBOXONE TAPER

The Suboxone Taper Phase begins after the person has stabilized on a steady dose usually 8mg. Once the person no longer shows objectively noticeable signs of opiate withdrawal Suboxone Taper begins with a continuous but methodical titration process.

4. SUBOXONE DISCONTINUATION

The final phase of Suboxone Detox is a physician directed Suboxone Discontinuation Process. The process is a staggered administration process (one day and one day off) usually lasting no more than 6-days in totality.
